UNCONNECTED FACTS (25 april 2004)
Today a few unconnected facts. At least, I see no connection, but perhaps you do ...
About a year ago there were more than a thousand daily visits to my website.
As you can see, the site had more than three thousand visits on 4th July. Since then, the number has decreased dramatically - daily about two hundred.
When I looked at the webstats today, I was pleased to see that the last ten visits came from six different countries:
- the USA
- South Africa
- Belgium
- the Netherlands
- France
- Australia
At about ten o'clock the pavement opposite my home got filled with more than a hundred bikers.
After a quarter of an hour, a yellow boat appeared in the canal close to where the bikers were seated. The boat stopped. And I thought there was a connection between the bikers and the boat lying there.
But after half an hour, the bridge opened and the boat passed under it leaving the bikers behind without having made any contact with them.
At first it was not clear what the reason could be for the bikers to be here. But after about one hour they alll left together. The restaurant must have been a starting-point for some kind of outing.
And as you can see (but not hear), all was quiet again:
I told you there was no connection. Or are you a believer in the theory that there's no such thing as coincidence?
