TASC R30 (SmartBoard) The SmartBoard of the TASC Chess System recognizes which chessmen it has on its squares. Below each square there is a coil which, in combination with an electronic part in the bottom of the chessman, forms a so-called resonance ring. In this way, twelve different chessmen are recognized: pawn, rook, knight, bishop, king, queen (both black and white). After a pawn has been promoted to a queen, the computer will allow a queen or a pawn to be used. The board is 42 x 42 x 2.3 cm. The board is made of walnut wood.
